About Barleyfields Counselling Services

Our Philosophy

At Barleyfields Counselling Services, we believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Our counselling services are delivered using a person centred approach which works to understand an individual’s experience from their perspective. This approach facilitates the personal growth and relationships of clients by allowing them to explore and utilise their own strengths, it helps the client reconnect with their values and sense of self-worth, enabling them to find their own way to move forward.  As a person centred counsellor, our role is to provide vital support to the client as they make their way through this journey. 

Our Services

We provide counselling sessions to individuals aged 18+ and  sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each of our clients. Barleyfields Counselling is quite unique in its option to provide counselling sessions in the clients home, removing issues such as the anxiety of unknown surroundings, transport difficulties and mobility or health issues, this is subject to there being the suitable environment for sessions to take place and a risk assessment being completed.

Counselling sessions are available;

Online - allowing you to access the support from the comfort and security of your own home.

In Person -  face to face sessions can allow a deeper connection and stronger therapeutic relationship.

In your home, face to face allowing a deeper connection, in the security and comfort of your own home (Subject to risk assessment, mileage charged at 40p per mile)

Session rates

At Barleyfields we offer competitive rates for both our online and in person sessions, times and duration is agreed between client and counsellor and continuity is an important factor in your progression. An initial 20 minute consultation is offered, allowing opportunity for us to meet and discuss individual requirements, and to ensure you are comfortable and happy to proceed with sessions.

45 Minute session - £40

60 Minute session - £50

90 Minute session - £80

Payments are made via Bank transfer or Paypal. Details for this are provided within the counselling contract to be completed prior to commencing sessions.

How do I book a session?

We offer a free fifteen minute consultation (chat!) to explore what you need help with and to ensure we are the right service for you, Your session can then be arranged, and the relevant information provided.


How long will it take to see results from my counselling sessions?

The length of time it takes to see results from counselling sessions with Barleyfields Counselling Services varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy.


How do you ensure confidentiality?

Any information shared is treated with discretion and respect, this is in line with the BACP's code of conduct and policies regarding commitment to clients.

Confidentiality is ensured through secure encrypted channels for online sessions and a safe, private space for in person sessions.  Home visits will carry the same level of confidentiality and will require a risk assessment prior to the first booking.

About your counsellor

Hello, I'm Carly and I run Barleyfields Counselling Services. I have  considerable experience of multidisciplinary working and safeguarding from babies to the elderly. 

I am a qualified person centred counsellor, working with adults aged 18+.  I am currently completing a diploma in Animal Assisted Therapy, pictured with me is my puppy Acer who is also going to be completing training to work with me as a therapy dog in sessions, we also plan to add an equine to our team to expand the therapeutic animal interaction available.... Watch this space!
